Charlie Crist should become a Democrat, Dan Gelber says | Capitol Comments
Former Republican Gov. Charlie Crist endorsed Democratic U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson this week, attending a fundraiser for the senator in Orlando.
The move has amped up speculation that Crist, who left the GOP and became an independent in his failed 2010 U.S. Senate bid, may make the switch to the Democratic Party and run again for governor in 2014.
Republicans have called Crist “two-faced” for his various political moves. And many Democrats are skeptical about whether they should embrace him as their standard-bearer.
But one prominent Democrat says Crist should become a Democrat.
And this is a guy that the Republican party to tried to shove down Florida's throats a couple of years ago. Thankfully, Republicans in Florida found their gag reflex.
