Incoherence

I like Sarah Palin. I'm by no means convinced she would make a good President, but I'm open to persuasion on that point.

However, listening to her is often very difficult. Her voice, of course, is grating sometimes. More to the point, though, is she's often very difficult to understand.John, at Powerline, makes this point in an extended post, but here's the money quote:

The problem here is not inaccuracy, but incoherence. Sarah Palin is a good writer and a good (sometimes excellent, as at the 2008 convention) deliverer of scripted speeches. But when she talks off the cuff, she is often inarticulate and sometimes, as at Old North Church, worse.

I think this is likely to make it much harder to be elected. Not impossible, however. Both GW Bush and Barack Obama are both horrible speaking off the cuff.

Amen! Sarah Palin's voice makes a symphony of fingernails on a blackboard sound like Mozart. I like her! I agree with a lot of what she says. But, I think some time with a speech therapist would be good for her. Keep up the good work.

Her voice is the least of the things that put me off from her.
