This is rich:
WASHINGTON Usually, an election victory improves a politician's popularity. But polling numbers overseas show President Bush is disliked and his re-election was a significant disappointment to most Europeans. An A-P survey shows that Bush is viewed negatively by a majority of people in France, Germany, Italy, Spain and even among respondents in the closely-allied countries of Australia, Britain and Canada.
Those numbers are particularly high in France, Germany and Spain, where the poll indicates 70 percent of people don't like Bush.
Europeans don't like Bush. This is news because ... why exactly? The other question is, "Why should I care?" And the answer is that given Europe's track record of late, I figure that the more they hate Bush, the more likely it is that he's doing something right.
But, if we're talking about polls, let's point out that Bush's job approval rating appears to be up about 3 points since the election. (I'm not, however, sure what the margin of error on those numbers is.)
You know, if I cared enough to learn the names and policies of the leaders of those countries, I probably wouldn't like them either. Neener-neener. :P
