During the 2000 election I recall Rush Limbaugh saying several rather unflattering things about the way the Florida Supreme Court handled issues before it. (I spent an enormous amount of time reading briefs and as far as I can tell most of what he had to say was probably justified. Maybe a little over the top, but accurate.) I can't find the specific quotes at the moment, but you could say some of it wasn't exactly nice.
His brother David didn't have nice things to say either. At one point he called four of the justices, "rabid activist ... justices."
Flash forward to today:
WEST PALM BEACH -- Rush Limbaugh on Wednesday won an appeals court ruling that will send his case to the Florida Supreme Court, which could decide if prosecutors properly seized his medical records late last year as a part of an investigation into Limbaugh's prescription drug use.
I have no reason to believe that this would color the Court's opinions. However I've heard people demand SCOTUS justices recuse themselves for much less.
