How exactly do you land your plane at the wrong airport? More specifically, how do you accidentally land your plane at an Air Force Base on accident.

Landing at a wrong airport is something one would expect from a pilot with low hours. However when you’re a Captain of an Airbus-A319, you have moved into the big leagues. This is the point of your career where you have at least 3-5 thousand hours of flight accumulated and it would stand to reason that your very experienced at the art of Instrument Flying Rules. Also, given today’s security concerns, it is a wonder the plane was not taken out of the skies by a surface to air missile from the Air Force Base prior to landing.
