So I was watching the Avs-Stars game and one of the announcers asked, "Why do "slim chance" and "fat chance" mean the same thing?
The answer, as far as I know, is that "slim chance" is meant to be straight up while "fat chance" is meant to be sarcastic.
Yeah, I'm sure y'all cared.
Yes, you're right. As in, the Stars had a very slim chance in coming back to win the series before the 2nd period of Saturday's game. And there was a FAT CHANCE that any hockey announcer on ABC or ESPN would actually pronounce the players' names correctly.
