J P Carter thinks that Kerry's recent expletive explosion was a calculated ploy to appeal to younger voters:
No, what offends me is that Kerry is such a pandering elitist. As a career politician, he knows full well how to work his image. He didn’t drop the F-bomb in an interview on Meet the Press (though I imagine the look on Tim Russert’s face would have been priceless). Nor did he let it slip while talking to Time or Newsweek. Instead he calculated that letting loose with an expletive laced tirade against Bush in Rolling Stone would help him appeal to the young, hip, lefty-leaning magazine’s readers.
