Mullah Omar said to be "delighted":
SPIN BOLDAK, Afghanistan (Reuters) - Islamic Taliban commanders secretly met elusive leader Mullah Mohammad Omar last week and vowed to step up attacks on Afghan government and U.S.-led allied troops, a commander said on Wednesday.Taliban guerrilla commander Mullah Sabir, alias Mullah Momin, told Reuters by telephone from an undisclosed location that Omar appeared "delighted" by a recent spate of Taliban attacks.
Yes, it's true that the Taliban is still carrying out attacks in Afghanistan. It's just that they're not, you know, accomplishing anything. When you consider that they used to be in charge of the whole country, it says something that their leader now claims to be "delighted" by a string of relatively ineffectual attacks.
