The press is so scared of screwing up that they won't call Wisconsin and New Mexico even though the results appear to be pretty clear. I guess I'll have to do it. Kerry wins Wisconsin and Bush wins New Mexico. Assuming Bush keeps Ohio, that also means the race.
Actually, I suspect that they're not calling New Mexico because that would put Bush over 27, at least according to Fox and NBC. If they did that, the election junkies might turn out. And since Kerry is up by the same point spread in Wisconsin, with fewer votes counted, it would look rediculous to call it and not New Mexico.
But maybe that's just my inner cynic. [Inner cynic? It sure comes out to play a lot!]
Update:I said the two states had about the same point spread. I meant the same total ballot spread.
